Two currencies we must have

Bismillah.

O son, as we busy ourselves collecting and keeping currencies of this world, Ghawth al-Azam, Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani spoke about currencies that would be of value in the hereafter. Surely, it is neither dollar nor pound. This he spoke exactly 886 years ago, on 2nd Rajab. He qaddasallahu sirruh said:

"This world is a marketplace in which, after a short while, there will be no one remaining. As night falls, its people will all depart from it. You must be careful to sell and buy in this market only that which will be useful to you tomorrow in the market of the hereafter, for the assayer has a sharp eye (for separating good coin from bad). Affirmation of the Oneness of Allah (tawhid), sincerity (ikhlas) in working for Him - this is the currency in circulation over there, and you have very little of it!"

So the two currencies we must have are tawhid and ikhlas. InshaAllah. May, in this blessed month of Rajab, Allah guides and helps us store these currencies. Ameen.
