Reflecting on the rain

Bismillah.

It has rained earlier today in KL. It rained when my mother and I went for a boat ride in Langkawi as seen in picture above. We love rainy days no matter where.

Alhamdulillah, we have become accustomed to make du'a every time it rains. We say: Allahumma soyyiban nafi'a. "May Allah pour that which is beneficial."

But let's enhance our reflection on our surroundings a bit more. When it rains, let's reflect on verses 68 to 70 of Surah al-Waqi'ah.

Bismillahirahmanirahim

a antum anzal tumuu hu minal muzni am nahnul munzilun
lau nashaa u ja'al na hu ujaa jaan falau la tashkurun

"Have you considered the water you drink?
Is it you who cause it to come down from the [rain] clouds
or are We the causer of its coming down?
If We willed, we could make it bitter,
why then will you not give thanks?"

Sadaqallah al-Azeem

  1. Such a joy and comfort to read your blog, as you can relate seemingly ordinary things for most people into remembrance of the Almighty. Alhamdullilah.

Another verse about the rain is in Surah Az-Zukruf verse 11 :
"And He who sends down (from time to time) water from the sky in due measure, and We raise to life therewith a land that is dead. Even so will you be raised (from the dead).
